Kilkenny is a county is the Republic of Ireland and is situated in the south eastern part of the island of Ireland. The county forms part of the province of Leinster. The main city in the county is Kilkenny City and the population for the county is approximately 88,000.
The people from the Kilkenny county are known as ‘Kilkenny Cats’, the moniker comes from the nickname for the county Hurling team, which is one of the best Hurling counties in the whole of Ireland having won the title nearly 30 times.
One of Kilkenny’s main attractions is the ‘Kilkenny Cats Laugh’ Stand-up Festival, which attracts the top comedians from Ireland and from across the world as well.
